I’ve been on lemmy for a while now, so i’m aware of basic organization theory of forming tenant unions, labor unit, neighborhood pods etc. But i’m hoping for a way that literally isn’t me setting it up from scratch in my country/city

start by going to your city’s transportation planning meetings, vote for ppl who promise positive reforms if there are some, talk to ppl you know about car-centric urbanism, bc many don’t realise it’s there (or as NJB appropriately calls it “orange pill”), don’t own a car yourself
Do you reckon most cities have one of these? My city hall has regular meeting, but its not clear to me about what topics
i’d assume yes, maybe they’re not called transportation planning meetings, but all cities, no matter the size and presence of public transportation, build and repair stuff, and there’s likely a department for that, which may organise such meetings
depends on the openness and democratic nature of the country of course, but still, i’d say many cities should have something like this
Thanks!
And when they say no, come again next week.
