Its looking like Microsoft is gonna buy Discord. Preferably open source, and has a big userbase, and has Windows and Linux option. (but mainly windows because i only game on windows now.)

    Rocket.Chat is federated. It’s more like Slack but you could jimmy it into a Discord alternative in the same way you can Slack.

    I’m a Matrix fan but it’s not there yet unfortunately.

      I really hope that once spaces land Element will stabilise a bit, I still regularly encounter frustrating bugs and find it a bit too slow on the public matrix.org instance
