What percent of time spent by pedestrians crossing streets is on same-direction streets? If it’s 80%, this blog is nonsense
Edit: The video doesn’t cover it, but you can kind of see from the map I suppose. Consider a road that looks like this, where X is the car and || is the crosswalk:

In this situation, the car stops to let a pedestrian through. But now consider

The person in the second car further down has a blindspot where they don’t see the pedestrian, which can cause an accident
