Vietnam is considering building a high-speed railway that runs along the country's length with a possible price tag of up to $58.7 billion, the government said on Sunday.

    I’m a little confused by this. It sounds like they’re referring to the need as being driven mainly by freight, but I usually think of high speed rail as being more passenger oriented. A quick look at Open Railway Map shows a mainline that goes along the coast with a split in the wider north region. At any rate, likely a worthy project.
