Just open search top right and enter the url there. When the search found it, you can open the post on your instance, where you’re already logged in, and comment.

I didn’t think that would work but I’ll have to try it. It’s seems every instance numbers the posts differently

Yes, numbering is different. But when you search for a direct URL, your instance will download it, if not already exists, and shows you the local cached version with the number your instance gave it to.

Sweet!

You can but you have open it from inside your own instance, so like in this case you (on Sopuli) gotta go to https://sopuli.xyz/c/opensource@lemmy.ml and find it. It was posted 1 year ago, so good luck!

Lemmy should have something to make this easier, but I don’t know how that would work

yeah it would be really convenient. Peertube lets you comment and subscribe to channels using any ActivityPub account in a really convenient way.

@nutomic@lemmy.ml do you think this will be implemented in lemmy soonish? (does @ing people like this give them a notification?)

I think there is an open issue for this, but i cant find it now. Anyway, i think this is a good feature, but i would have to know how its implemented on a technical level. If you have any information about that, it would be very helpful.

A loosely moderated place to ask open ended questions

If your post is

  1. Open ended
  2. Not offensive
  3. Not regarding lemmy support (c/lemmy_support)
  4. not ad nauseam inducing (please make sure its a question that would be new to most members)

it’s welcome here!
