Also, it’s not even that I’m mad that you stole my food, my main issue is that I’m over here trying to give you a healthy life and you keep eating stuff that’s very explicitly bad for you!

Look, I know kibble doesn’t taste as good, but you’ll thank me when you don’t start suffering from all kinds of health problems at half your normal lifespan!

And they give you that “what? It wasn’t me, I have no idea what you’re talking about!” Face when you confront them.

How the hell are animals so expressive when you accuse them of wrongdoing is beyond me.

Yep, the lie detector trick - it isn’t a lie if you believe it. You ask the cat, “Did you do something you weren’t supposed to?” They respond, “Nope, but I did eat the sausage you left out like an idiot.”

That’s the difference between cats and dogs. Dogs look up to you and structure their whole lives around pleasing you. Cats just cohabitate with you. They have their own interests and goals. Sometimes you’re part of that and sometimes you’re just getting in their way.

Of course, a dog is a herd animal, where you are the unquestionable boss, a cat is not, it sees you as an equal, although you can establish a good friendship with him, you have to earn this first, so as not to stay as a mere can opener.

Yup, and this is why I find cats to be more interesting. You really have to try and figure them out, it’s like a puzzle.

Not so much a puzzle, they are personalities and individualists and must be treated as such.

Of course, but their cognition is different from humans so it’s not always clear what they’re doing and why. It’s a lot easier to get a mental model of a dog than of a cat I find.
