Wondering how can I boost my workout motivation without losing my freedom and privacy… Mainly for walking and bicycling and some body weight workout.

So currently I have Loop Habit Tracker on my phone where I mark meals and workout as well as bad habits. I also use OpenTracks for recording time and distance… these methods I find little useful for motivator for its kinda a lot work.

Another solution would be smart/sport watches tracking steps and other data… This I own Huawei device for but it has limited usefulness with internet disabled and without Google services installed its route tracing does not work. Also it requires third party “hacked” APK for uploading DIY custom watch faces without giving your driving and bank cards to Huawei. Which is why I keep it as paper weight for now…

Perhaps another wearable brand would be better ? I don’t know if PineTime is ready for this use case yet.

Probably the “solution” is just starting podcasts and audio books and trying to make exercise more fun, and at the (re)start pushing myself more until it becomes automatic habit…
