What is gemini? The Gemini protocol is an alternative to HTTP, and Gemtext is an alternative document format to HTML.

I like Alpine Linux a lot, small, fast, secure. Their howtos wiki is messy at times though. I am not using Alpine Linux as my daily driver, it is missing a package for flameshot and Tor browser bundle won’t load. When I get a newer computer in the future I will run it in a VM.

I used alpine on a home media server, and actually like it quite a bit, unfortunately after I transferred to a raspberry pi, I can only use one of the few debian spinoffs (dietpi in my case) to support booting from an external disk from an rpi :/

I wonder why he doesn’t put gemini posts in the RSS feed. I always miss the gemini posts.

because i like gemini and i want people to use it :D and when you don’t have a gemini client installed, clicking the link won’t work and probably many people won’t notice that is not a http link

So post a HTTP link (via a Gemini proxy) instead and put the Gemini link in the body of the post instead. Now you just get people to not read the article instead.

I understand you want people to use Gemini, but this is not the way to do it. Also, I personally won’t ever use Gemini if it doesn’t even have support for some basic stuff like inline images 🤷

i kind of understanad your reaction but i what i want to achieve is a culture where it is very normal to post gemini links instead of http links. And this won’t happen if i post via gemini proxies.

And also, i thought that the title might be very interesting so curious people might install a clilent or find a way to read this article. :D

Yeah that is what I would expect as well. If I wanted to read the article I would now have to find a Gemini proxy myself, which, well, most people just aren’t going to do. So instead they just won’t read the article.
